The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our
informers.
Before we start, we must clarify some points...we are talking about Resident Evil 4, an excellent survival horror game from Capcom (recently reviewed by me as BioHazard 4, because that was the name of the Asian version).
I think it is an awesome game, but some purists don't. Who? Some extreme gamers, fans of the RE saga. Why? Well, it's a little bit complicated, the situation is as follows:
Originally this game was released for the Game Cube console, with killer graphics and cut scenes. After the GC release, it was ported to the PlayStation 2 console, with a significant lower graphic quality, due to the limitations of the PS2 architecture (compared with the GC one). Finally, the PC version was released based on...yup...the PS2 version!! Sad...isnt' it? Moreover, some random game crashes were reported. Finally, after all the complains from the gamers community, Ubisoft (the game publisher in Europe) released a patch that does what they wanted: it improves the graphics level (textures, fog, lightning...), to get a little closer to the GC version, and enhaces the game stability, getting rid of these game crashes (at least, most of them).
I just want to tell you the truth...the patching process is not easy at all. And it only works on the European version of the game (that is, Resident Evil and not BioHazard). But if you follow the instructions (after doing a deep research on several forums), you can apply the patch, and it finally works! And wow, man! This is not the game I bought! Believe me, it's really worthwhile. If you liked it before, now you will just love it! Of course, you need a decent hardware in order to really appreciate the change.

- The graphic detail is EXTREMELY improved, the fog gives you the chills...NOW we are talking!

- The system requirements to apply (and enjoy) this patch are a little bit higher.
